Festival of Learning & Have A Go Fortnight 2023

As part of the national Festival of Learning campaign, Employment & Skills Leeds worked with local tech training providers to deliver some tech skills taster sessions during a focused 'Have a Go Fortnight' which commenced 6 November 2023. 

The Festival of Learning campaign celebrates the achievements of and learning opportunities available to adult learners. During Have a Go Fortnight, Leeds City College provided a calendar of free events and taster sessions happening across the Leeds region which were created to help adults access a variety of learning opportunities.

The Employment & Skills Leeds focus on tech and digital skills taster sessions included: 

  • Have a Go Coding: An introduction to Code First Girls 
  • Have a Go: Teach the Nation to Code (Intro to Python). Delivered by QA Apprenticeships 
  • Have a Go: Presentation skills. Delivered by AND Digital 
  • Software Engineering Taster session. Delivered by Digital Futures 
  • Explore QA Apprenticeships in Leeds. Delivered by QA Apprenticeships 

The sessions were attended by a range of people eager to try out new tech skills and find out more about careers in software development and coding skills.
