Productivity
We can improve productivity in Leeds and enable businesses to innovate and grow. We are looking closely at how we can continue to build the profile of Leeds for the region and the UK.
Innovation
Find out more about Our Vision, explore the Leeds Innovation Arc which will create a centre of global significance, and take a look at how we are investing in the innovation ecosystem through the innovation@leeds grants programme. The government has recently announced that West Yorkshire is to be home to the country's third Investment Zone, with investment in digital and healthtech accelerating plans for the Innovation Arc and kickstarting the development of the Innovation Village on the Leeds General Infirmary site.
Supporting Businesses
SMEs are the backbone of the economy, and we need to provide them with more support to help them reach their full potential and close the productivity gap. Working in partnership with the region's Growth Service, our focus is to help businesses increase their productivity through investing in new technology, products, processes and employee skills.
Celebrating Culture
Culture in Leeds has played a role in drawing people back into our city centre and high streets after the pandemic, showcasing what we have to offer and driving visitors to the city, inspiring young talent, improving people's health and bringing communities together. We are letting culture loose in Leeds 2023: Year of Culture.
Inward Investment
Our broad based economy, rich and diverse population and reputation as one of the most collaborative cities in Europe are just some of the reasons we are chosen as a location by major institutions like the new UK Infrastructure Bank and have attracted and retained global brands such as Burberry and DLA Piper.
